Now that the summer crowds are gone, it's time to get up to Calaveras & Alpine counties to go fishing. It's just getting good!!!!
Cooler evenings have really got the fish biting up here.
The North Fork of the Stanislaus is picking up with some larger fish being caught. Check out the pictures below of a nice Rainbow & Brown caught in the last week by one of our local Guides Trevor Stewart. It’s not too late to book a trip with Neil or Trevor with Western Hatch Guide service. They can be reached by calling 760-709-2971 or by emailing Westernhatchguideservice@gmail.com.
Fishing in Heenan lake has been pretty consistent, with fish being caught on buggers and midge patterns using intermediate and sinking lines. Heenan is open Fridays through Sundays until the end of October
The East Fork of the Carson is still producing good numbers and some large fish.
Now is also the time to hit Lake Alpine as the fish are moving into the shallows and fattening up for the coming winter.
There are also some nice fish being caught at Indian Creek Reservoir, near Markleeville. Make it a couple of days trip and you can fish Indian Springs, East Fork of the Carson and Heenan Lake on the same trip or even the same day.
