    • Fishing Report for week of 5/19/2019

For those of you who fish in Calaveras County, start bugging Fish & Game and the county board about getting some fish planted up here.  We all pay for licenses and should be getting our fair share of fish!!!

The flows on most of our local rivers are high and fishing is tough.  Fish can be caught fishing the edges with large streamers or heavy nymphs, you just have to work hard at it.

There are still some fish to be caught in White Pines Lake.  Fish are down deep, full sink lines have been doing the trick.  Strip Wooly Buggers Sparrow and Prince Nymphs

The road to Spicer is now OPEN, I have not heard what it looks like going in to the lake, but you can get there.   Lake Alpine is still covered in snow, but there is water starting to show, just no place to park.  Keep checking back for more reports.

If you looking for a trip on the Lower Sacramento fishing has been picking up.  Need a guide?  Contact Chris Gearhart at Bent Rod Fly Fishing for a great trip.
