Flows remain high on the North Fork of the Stanislaus and are making it tough for fly fisherman. The good news is that once the flows go down the fishing should be good for the fall. The upper sections of the river are in better shape as flows go, but there are still some fish being caught on the fly in Big Trees Park and at Sourgrass.
There are still some fish to be had in Beaver Creek as well.
Highland Lakes has been producing some good fishing, stripping buggers. If you can catch it with just a bit of chop on the water dries are working as well.
Lake Alpine has been producing fish as well. Use a full sink line with a streamer and you should be able to get a few. Plenty of fish have been planted over the last couple of weeks, so they are in there to be caught.
