The Fish-Skull Daddy Crawfish is a simple crayfish pattern tied using the Fish-Skull CrawBody and Fish-Skull® Sculpin Helmet to create an incredibly effective crayfish fly for bass and trout. The CrawBody is matched with the Sculpin Helmet to create a very realistic pattern that gets to the bottom where crayfish live The Skull Daddy Key Features: Profile: The Crawbody combines with the Sculpin Helmet to create a very realistic crayfsh profile. Weight and Hook Orientation: The Skull Daddy is specifically designed to be fished deep on or very near the river or lake bottom where crayfish typically live and to do this in an almost snag-free way. The fly does this by combining a Sculpin Helmet (that has a weighted keel) with a #4 or #2 streamer hook tied in the hook upwards position.
The weight gets the fly down.
The keel means the fly will always swim in the hook upwards position which helps avoid getting caught on the bottom of the river.
The flat bottom and up eye hook position helps the fly move over any obstacles it may encounter. Hook Size:#2 and #4. Color Variations: The Skull Daddy range is available in two different color options: olive and brown. This allows you to match a wide variety of local fishing conditions or target species.
